Tell me more...As an Advanced Sonographer/Radiographer in a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high level ultrasound examinations in obstetric, gynaecological, general, paediatric, musculoskeletal and vascular services as well as provide proficient radiographic imaging (CT General OPG & Mobile) within the Weipa Integrated Health Service Medical Imaging Department. You will also be required to apply managerial skills to ensure daily effective operation of department as well as providing management, leadership and mentorship to your team.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to provide clinical advice regarding professional standards and clinical service development. Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and rural and remote environment.
  • Management: Experience demonstrated in managing small teams within a broader multidisciplinary context.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate ability to lead change through quality and service improvement activities and risk management. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision of personnel.

Requirements for the role:

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/ manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
  • Travel across the TCHHS will be a requirement of this position in commercial and/or light aircraft and 4WD vehicles.
  • It is a mandatory condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) hepatitis B, Covid19 and Influenza.
