About the Role
The role of the Co-Responder Clinical Nurse Consultant will assist in preventing and safely resolving mental health crisis situations through cooperation, collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and understanding between Queensland Police Service (QPS), Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Service (MSAMHS). The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Co-Responder) will work with QPS & QAS in providing in dual secondary response team to undertake rapid assessment and interventions in crisis situations in the community.
Responsible for clinical leadership for Access Services through the application of advanced clinical knowledge, skills and competency according to contemporary practice and standards of care.
Maintain high level of interpersonal and negotiation skills to inform and train the healthcare team of clinical practice updates and research findings within the Co-Responder area.
Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement in the provision of contemporary nursing practice.
Work collaboratively with peers and others to create team cohesion and a positive practice environment that achieves best practice outcomes for patients and/or service.
