The Role

An opportunity has become available for Clinical Nurse Consultant (Spinal Cord Injury) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Ideally, have experience working in a specialised Spinal Cord Injury service
  • Have specialised skills in bladder and bowel care, wound management and pressure injury prevention for people with spinal cord injury
  • Provide clinical support and education about health, rehabilitation and other aspects of spinal cord injury
  • Appy advanced knowledge and experience in the management of spinal cord injury

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • AHPRA Registration
  • A Masters or Higher qualification within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary

  • Temporary full time (10 months with possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $4561.00 - $4951.80 per fortnight

About Us

The Statewide Brain and Spinal Cord Injury (BaSCI) project is a federally funded project to enhance the care of patients with Acquired Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury in Queensland. The BaSCI project with Gold Coast Health sits within Rehabilitation Services. The Rehabilitation Service provides high quality, interdisciplinary care to patients with a wide range of conditions requiring rehabilitation in acute, inpatient and community settings and includes inpatient rehabilitation units and hospital in-reach rehabilitation teams (Rehabilitation Response Team), Complex Management Unit, Community Rehabilitation Program, Amputee Clinic, Hypertonicity Clinic, and outpatient clinics. This service is based at Southport and Robina.
