Practice autonomously using an advanced level of skills in the provision of well health checks, immunisations, and developmental assessments to young people, their families, and the school community in the areas of child health, lead testing, immunisation, vision screening, health promotion and education.

Contribute in leading positive client and family outcomes across the care continuum by demonstrating advanced clinical care in the assessment, planning and evaluation of evidenced based interventions for clients and families within Maternal, Child and Youth Health.

Contribute to work practice development related to area of antenatal, postnatal, sexual health, child health, women and children by actively participating in clinical education networks and working collaboratively with health care teams across the care continuum.

What we are seeking:

  • Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment in the Maternal, Child and Youth Health.
  • Knowledge of legislation, professional standards, policy and procedure as they apply to this role.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, clients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes.
  • Proven ability to provide advanced nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate the development of clinical governance and practice standards required in provision and delivery of safe and quality care.
  • Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.
  • Proven ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.

Requirements:

  • Graduate Certificate in Child Health and/or Immunisation course, or working toward same.
  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and possession of a current annual practising certificate are mandatory requirements for this role.
  • This position may require you to work on call, continuous shift rotations, and weekend work as per departmental business requirements.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Tuberculosis and COVID-19.
  • A 6-month period of probation may apply.

What's on offer?

Temporary full-time role up to 12 months (with possible extension), 76 hours p.f.

Generous remuneration package from $119,944 up to $128,435 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range between $104,816 and $112,236 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6 - Band 1)
  • Annual recreational leave p.a. with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
