About the Role

Metro South Addiction Services are looking for a Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join the Qld Drug and Alcohol team, to work within the multidisciplinary team providing professional and confidential service for individuals, families and communities impacted by substance to support participants on a court ordered treatment order. The Community Engagement officer will assist with the QH group program, carry a small caseload, network with NGO's and other government services to assist with referral pathways to external services for provide holistic wrap around collaborative care/treatment.

This includes:

  • Working within a therapeutic jurisprudence framework, detailed ongoing assessment, participant education, therapeutic intervention and/or management and assistance with treatment compliance within a multi-disciplinary context.
  • Facilitating and/or co-facilitating psychoeducation groups.
  • Clinical education, supervision of observational students and allied health assistants, and assistance with supervision of undergraduate students.
  • Participation and contribution to quality improvement and research activities under the guidance of senior staff.
