About the role

In addition to clinical duties, the CLS Officer will provide advice, support and training to court and watch house staff on mental health issues. CLS are established in locations across Queensland. Depending on the demonstrated skills and personal preference as outlined in individual applications and discussed at interview the successful applicant may potentially be required to work across a number of sites within South-East Queensland and may involve travel within the Greater-Brisbane Metropolitan area, the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Toowoomba.

  • Integrity demonstrates sound decision quality, ensures accountability, demonstrates courage in the face of adversity and works effectively / manages complexity to ensure work output and decisions are ethical and invariably of a high standard

For Psychologists:

General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia is required. The possession of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)-accredited postgraduate qualification in clinical or forensic psychology and membership of the APS would be highly considered.

For Social Workers:

It is a mandatory requirement for all Social Work positions that the candidate is eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a University level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership to the association.
