Permanent Full-time and/or Part-time, hours negotiable (several positions available).

Generous pro rata remuneration package (based on full-time equivalent value) up to$486,763 p.a. comprising salary range of $225,777 - $239,377 p.a. (full-time) or$108.17- $114.69 p.h. (part-time) (L25-L27),recreational leave loading (17.5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave (3.6 weeks p.a.),private practice arrangements, communications package, professional indemnity cover and otheremployment benefits.

About the role

• Responsible for appropriate clinical supervision and direction of medical staff, (including Specialist Trainee registrars) within the unit.
• Work effectively within a team environment consisting of medical, nursing, allied health and support staff.
• Liaise and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and the diverse range of clients of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
• Actively participate in education activities.

Requirements

Radiology Staff Specialist:

• Medical degree registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Specialist Qualifications:
  - Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) or equivalent.
  -Partially comparable with FRANZCR or equivalent.
• Evidence of participation in a continuing professional development (CPD) education programme.

Dual Trained Radiology Staff Specialist:

• Medical degree registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Specialist Qualifications:
  - Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) or equivalent.
  - Partially comparable with FRANZCR or equivalent.
  - Fellowship with Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent.
• Evidence of participation in a continuing professional development (CPD) education programme.
• Proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
• Participate in the radiology on call roster for after-hours medical imaging services.

Candidates who will be obtaining fellowship in the near future are encouraged to apply. Appointment will be at a lower classification level until minimum requirements for the Staff Specialist classification are obtained.
