The Health Capital Division (HCD) works with the Hospital and Health Services (HHSs), the Department of Health, other government agencies and the construction sector to achieve value for money infrastructure outcomes.

HCD delivers an end-to-end capital infrastructure process. This includes all capital planning, business cases, construction and maintenance programs, whilst managing these through government processes for Queensland Health in partnership with HHSs.

The Division is client focused and tailors its support to the individual needs of our HHS partners.

The role
Reporting to the Deputy Director-General HCD, the Executive Director Strategy and Commercial is a key leadership role actively contributing to the strategic development and management of HCD. You will provide advice on high level policy, planning and implementation issues as well as overseeing the development and deployment of best practice commercial approaches and strategies for health infrastructure planning, delivery, contract management and engagement practices. The Executive Director Strategy and Commercial leads property functions and specific HCD infrastructure to help build engagement capability in capital planning and delivery to support the new delivery model.

The successful person
The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience in contributing to an organisation's successful strategy and commercial functions of major infrastructure programs in a highly complex environment. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

You will additionally have experience in preparing and presenting high quality and politically sensitive reports to key stakeholders within and outside of Queensland Health. Your experience in providing strategic leadership and management of a multidisciplinary team within a complex service delivery environment is essential.
