The Department
This Hospital has a busy ED with approximately 18,000 presentations per year with 25% admission rate. and 25% paediatric presentations.
Led by the FACEM Director, this ED department is staffed by a group of dynamic CMOs who promote an active, stimulating and supportive work environment. The new Emergency Department redevelopment opened in 2018 as part of the new development of the Hospital including a new medical ward, operating theatres and HDU, is the Rural Referral Hospital for the Tableland.

The City
This city is set high on the beautiful Northern Tablelands and is known for its beautiful tree lined streets and magnificent autumn colours and has a distinctive seasonal climate. This city is located mid way between Sydney and Brisbane on the New England Highway with an abundance of transport options between the major cities. The region offers diversity in outdoor activities such as bushwalking in the nearby World Heritage listed National Parks offering spectacular gorges and waterfalls in Australia. This city has an educational centre featuring a university, as well as public and private schools, and a regional conservatorium each providing a level of education comparable to any capital city in Australia. There is also plenty of child care options and children's services for families in the area.

The Hospital
This Hospital is a ninety nine bed facility providing a comprehensive range of services including acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics and a range of diagnostic and allied health services. A busy emergency department, a Level 3 Close Observation Unit, mental health unit and renal dialysis unit. The referral community of the area is 55,200. Adult Medical services include respiratory, cardiac, chemotherapy, renal and palliative care. Surgical services include general, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology and ophthalmology. The hospital is a spacious, modern and well-equipped with the most recent development opening in 2019. Tablelands Clinical School is part of the UON and UNE Joint Medical Program. Medical students undertake clinical placements and attend teaching at the clinical school which is exceptionally well resourced with simulation laboratories and tutorial rooms.

The Role
They are in need of an experienced Emergency Medicine and hold the FACEM.IMG will be considered if you have submitted to ACEM and have an interview date or outcome.
