The purpose of the Acute Care Service includes being the entry point of contact for acute mental health assessment, intake, substance abuse and acute community follow up.
This role will make a difference and act as the service point of contact for acute substance misuse, mental health assessment, intake and acute community mental health home care follow up.
Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) status, or working towards same, as required under the Mental Health Act 2016.
The successful applicant may be required to work alone within a consult liaison capacity in the hospital Emergency Department and wards.
Applications are sought from Clinical Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists.

Base salary range between $100,786 and $107,918 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6 - Band 1)

Base salary range between $70,958 and $104,295 p.a. (HP3)
- Category B Rural and Remote Allowance for Health Practitioners $231.94 p.f. (full-time)
- Category B Professional Development Allowance of $3,047 p.a. (paid fortnightly) and up to 3 days p.a. PD leave
Permanent full-time role, 76 hrs p.f.

Requirements:
- Proof of qualification is required along with current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for professional association.
- Criminal History checks (all applicants) and Working with Children (Social Workers only) will be undertaken for the successful applicant.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Tuberculosis and COVID-19.
- A 6-month period of probation may apply.
