The aim of MSAMHS Addiction Services is to provide a professional and confidential service for individuals, families and communities impacted by substance use. Our service provides a specialist multidisciplinary team approach, within a Harm Minimisation policy and a No Wrong Door philosophy by improving the health and wellbeing of those affected by alcohol and drugs, including people affected by the substance use of others and to increase awareness of alcohol and drug related issues within the Metro South Community.
Bayside Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS) is based at Bayside Addiction and Mental Health Centre located at 2 Weippin St, Cleveland and shares premises with other Queensland Health community services including Community Mental Health Services.
The Model/s of Care
Addiction services are a specialised multidisciplinary service within MSAMHS for individuals, families, carers, and communities impacted by substance use.
The service offers support to individuals experiencing issues with any substance use including alcohol, tobacco, illicit drugs, prescription drugs, inhalants and over the counter preparations. The service can be accessed in person, by phone, via GP or service referral.

About the Role
Manage an allocated workload to deliver Addiction services, including assessment, intervention and evaluation within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice and ethical standards and under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of more senior staff.
Engage in varied and complex inter-sectoral linking and liaison with relevant stakeholders and partnerships, including communication and interpretation of complex clinical information to secure the service needs of clients.
Clinicians are also provided with operational supervision on a regular basis to provide support, guidance, monitor activity and develop operational plans for the next period.
Within the Bayside Alcohol and Drug Service, the clinical staff (CNCs, CNs (Clinical Nurse), HP3s and HP4s (Health Practitioners)) in the unit operationally report to the Team Leader who reports to the Addiction Services Nursing Director. The Addiction Services Nursing Director reports operationally to the Director Addiction and Access Services and professionally to the Director of Nursing. Allied health report professionally to their professional seniors.
