About the role

The purpose of this role is to deliver clinical rehabilitative music therapy services to consumers admitted to the Brighton Brain Injury Service (BBIS) and their families, to optimise psychosocial outcomes, optimise their health functional ability, and quality of life.

Brighton Brain Injury service is a 10 bed sub-acute rehabilitation unit that supports working age adults (18-65 years) who have Rehabilitation needs which require them to undertake an intensive therapy program to help improve general function and independence.

  • BBIS provides specialist brain injury rehabilitation for people who have moderate to severe impairments resulting from an acquired brain injury.
  • Brighton Brain Injury service also has 14 maintenance care beds that support transition to community for people who have completed Rehabilitation at BBIS or elsewhere in MNHHS.

The successful applicant must possess a Masters degree (or equivalent) in Music Therapy, and registration as a Music Therapist with the Australian Music Therapy Association is a requirement for this role. Certified copies of relevant qualification and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
