About the role
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) provides expert clinical leadership and management capability within the Emergency Department (Ipswich Hospital) via effective operational and resource management. The Nurse Unit Manager positively influences the outcome of patient centred care through effective management skill, support and role modelling contemporary best practice and evidence, team building and guiding clinical care and service delivery.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated high level of clinical leadership, clinical practice and recent expertise in Emergency nursing.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships, strong teams within a framework of open communication and the establishment of a positive environment across the broad clinical interprofessional team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others.
- Demonstrated management experience including financial literacy and capability with an ability and commitment to deliver clinical services collaboratively integrating the broader multidisciplinary health care team in delivering high quality, cost effective, patient centred care.
- Demonstrated skill in financial management, data analysis, outcome evaluation, service improvement and the ability to communicate these effectively to senior management or external agencies.
- Demonstrated legislation / policy knowledge and the ability to develop documents supporting the application of same.
