About the role

The aim of the Renal Service at the Mount Isa Hospital is to provide support and education to clients, families and communities in all aspects of renal disease and to encourage independence in all aspects of renal disease, including haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis enabling an optimal quality of life.

Facilitate and provide nursing leadership, support, clinical supervision and mentoring within the nursing team of the Renal Service.

This role works to provide nursing resource, education and research accountabilities and strategic management to facilitate the delivery of high quality, best practice care to clients within renal services.

Main requirements

  • Tertiary degree qualification, AHPRA registration and annual certificate.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Criminal History checks will be undertaken.
  • 6-month probationary period may apply.
  • This is a VPD risk role.Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Tuberculosis, and COVID-19.

What's on offer?

Permanent full-time role, 76 hours per fortnight.

Generous remuneration package includes:

  • Salary ranges between $123,752 and $134,357 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7).
  • 5 weeks p.a. recreational leave + 17.5% loading.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.

Staff Accommodation may be available or rental subsidy of $82.50 p.w. up to 17 months.

Professional Development: we offer in-house training, development and mentoring programs, and 2 weeks p.a. plus travel as required and enrolment and conference costs for approved courses and conferences.

Rural and Remote incentives: two (2) return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with recreation leave. Annual isolation bonus at the conclusion of 1 year $3,500, 2 years $10,500 and 3rd and consecutive years $7,000.

Additional leave options include: purchased, long service, sick, parental, maternity, or adoption leave. Plus rostering allows for one (1) day/month (accumulative) `Accrued Days Off'.
