The Townsville University Hospital Physiotherapy Department sits within the Allied Health Services Division and is directed by a physiotherapist.

Services are provided across the continuum of care to all appropriate patient groups across inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary settings.

The department provides a 24 hour service through an on-call and weekend roster.

Physiotherapists routinely work in intensive care, medical/surgical acute, musculoskeletal, rehabilitation, oncology, rural facilities, women's and children's areas, and community health.

Junior staff members have the opportunity to rotate and gain experience in a variety of clinical areas and current structural arrangements offer excellent clinical support.

About your opportunity

In this role you will deliver effective physiotherapy clinical services to an allocated inpatient and/or outpatient caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team primarily within the Townsville University Hospital and other service locations across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

Generous remuneration package up to $118,996, salary range of $2719.80 to $3997.60 p.f. (HP3), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. We are seeking passionate Physiotherapists who can demonstrate the following:
  • Clinical Expertise:Demonstrated competent level of knowledge, expertise and skill in physiotherapy clinical practice.
  • Communication:Demonstrated effective communication skills and an ability to work effectively as part of a single-discipline or a multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Clinical Ability:Demonstrated ability to manage a clinical caseload under the clinical practice supervision of more senior physiotherapists; and to assess non-complex patients and interpret assessment findings to develop and implement safe and effective routine physiotherapy interventions.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire the skill to supervise assistant staff and contribute to the supervision of students on work experience or clinical placement.

Requirements

Mandatory requirements are a Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent and current AHPRA registration, evidence of this will be required prior to appointment.

Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate; this may include criminal history checks and Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role compliance.

A 6-month period of probation may apply.
