The Hospital:
It's the Gold Coast and the shiny new 900 bed University Tertiary Teaching Hospital.

The Unit
The 72-bed Mental Health Unit is part of Gold Coast Health's $1.76 billion Gold Coast University Hospital, which is designed within a parkland setting, with functional outdoor spaces to promote positive health outcomes. The innovative Mental Health Unit has been recognised among the world's best new mental health projects in acknowledgment of the empathetic design and use of landscaping to promote positive patient outcomes at the facility. The Mental Health Unit has a patient-centred approach to the bedrooms, which have been designed to create a feeling of privacy and refuge for patients, while the common areas allow high levels of observation by staff. Similarly, the Unit is discretely accessed from the emergency department of the main hospital, to preserve the dignity and privacy of patients at the time of their admission.

The Role:
The hospital is looking for an individual to work in their busy Psychiatric department in what will be a reasonably senior capacity that will require supervision of more junior staff. This position is an accredited facility and the opportunity to join the FRANZCP training program at this facility once you are accepted on to the course is available.

The Requirements:
To apply you must hold registration with AHPRA and be eligible to join the FRANZCP training program.
