The Role:

• An opportunity for a Psychiatry Registrar to join the Mental Health Department at this leading regional facility.
• Full time role commencing 2023
• Dynamic and growing health service with supportive staff

The Mental Health Service is a complex service that provides psychiatric care and treatment across a large catchment area in Victoria. The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service provides services to patients from birth to 17 years, the Youth Team covers ages 18 to 24 years, Adult Services cover patients from 25 to 64 years and the Older Persons Service manages those individuals over 65 years old.


The Hospital:
This hospital is a known leader in regional health care and the citys largest hospital, employing in excess of 4000 staff and providing services to a catchment area covering a quarter of the size of Victoria. A 754-bed service, treating near 50,000 inpatients and comprising of 11 operating theatres where almost 15,000 surgical procedures are performed annually. Services include; emergency, maternity, womens health, medical imaging, pathology, rehabilitation, community services, residential aged care, psychiatric care, community dental, hospice/palliative care, cardiology, cancer services and renal dialysis.

The Requirements:

• Hold Registration with AHPRA as a specialist
• New Zealand Psychiatry Specialist or SMO willing to be RANZCP assessed
• IMG with RANZCP interview date or outcome
