Base salary ranges between $77,253 and $99,090 p.a. (full-time) or between $38.96 and $49.97 p.h. (part-time) (Nurse Grade 5).
*Wage rates are scheduled to increase on 1 April 2023.
The role
The McKinlay Shire Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) ( https://www.northwest.health.qld.gov.au/our-facilities/julia-creek/ ) at Julia Creek provides rural and remote hospital services including emergency bays, inpatient/acute beds, flexi aged care beds and an outpatients department. A multidisciplinary model of care is implemented across the care continuum with inpatient services supported by a Medical Superintendent.
This role provides professional, safe and quality patient and family centred nursing care; and is committed to enhancing and enabling patient experience and outcomes by leading support, collaboration, and partnership with patient, families/carers and other health service providers at McKinlay Shire MPHS.
Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences. Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate; this may include criminal history checks, aged care checks and Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role compliance. VPD risk roles may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, COVID-19 and Influenza. A 6-month period of probation may apply.
The location
JULIA CREEK is a cattle and sheep grazing area located on the Flinders Highway; one of the most important interstate road routs in Australia.
As the major administrative and business centre of the McKinlay Shire, the town of Julia Creek also supports silver, lead and zinc mining.
Julia Creek sits above the Great Artesian Basin which provides a flowing bore of heated water to the center of town.
McKinlay Shire has a population of approx. 1000 people, with around 500 living in Julia Creek.
The Traditional Owners of the area are the Mitakoodi people.
