About your opportunity

Health and Wellbeing are currently seeking to recruit 4 Registered Nurse Student Midwives / 12 months / 56 hours f.n.Two intakes with students starting in May2023 and July 2023.

The position's goal is to give Registered Nurses enrolled in postgraduate midwifery programs accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) the opportunity to gain practical experience in maternity settings while being supervised in a partnership model, which will support their theoretical learning. The training program's criteria, including the demand for midwifery experience, must be understood and adhered to with commitment. To offer a secure environment for pregnant women and newborns, the midwifery student will collaborate with the midwife.

Generous remuneration package value up to $80,337 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $37.46 to $48.05 p.h. (NG5)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading.
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

  • It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is an essential qualification for this position.
  • 12 months post-graduate Registered Nurse experience (evidence to be provided)
  • Acceptance, or ability to apply, for a suitable Postgraduate midwifery university program.
  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
