About the Role
The role of the Senior Mental Health Clinician, Co-Responder will assist in preventing and safely resolving mental health crisis situations through cooperation, collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and understanding between Queensland Police Service (QPS), Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Service (MSAMHS). The Allied Health Practitioner Senior CORE will work with QPS & QAS in providing in dual secondary response team to undertake rapid assessment and interventions in crisis situations in the community.
- Manage an allocated workload to deliver mental health and discipline specific services, including assessment, intervention and evaluation within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice and ethical standards and under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of more senior staff.
- Acts as a clinical reference point with the mental health and discipline specific team and responds to every-day clinical demands.
- Collaborate on and undertake the development of evidence-based clinical practices, policies and protocols within the CORE Team and the broader Addictions and Access Service.
- Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to multicultural mental health complex decision making with only occasional clinical/professional supervision.
