About the role

The purpose of this role is to deliver high level occupational therapy services in Interim Care, of Community and Oral Health, Metro North Hospital and Health Service. This service supports adult patients who have made the decision to move to a Residential Aged Care Facility when they leave Interim Care. The Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist work together to assess mobility and function with the aim of the service is to maintain patient's functional level through participation in everyday activities and exercise group.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Clinical Ability Contemporary high-level knowledge, expertise and skills in the provision of Occupational Therapy services with the focus on maintaining function
  • Leadership Ability to provide clinical supervision to HP3 level Occupational Therapy practitioners, allied health assistants and students, and contribute to the development of self and others through education, professional networking and the application of evidence-based practice; the ability to initiate and actively participate in activities to improve the service, and to manage the clinical and non-clinical requirements of the role
  • Respect demonstrates interpersonal savvy, manages conflict appropriately, communicates effectively and balances the needs of all stakeholders with utmost respect to all people at all times
  • Teamwork collaborates effectively in a multidisciplinary team, develops talent, values differences and builds effective teams, maintains a positive attitude
  • Compassion is completely patient / client focussed, demonstrates self-awareness and the effects of behaviour on others, deals with or manages ambiguity and complexity, stays focussed and composed in stressful situations with patient needs in mind at all time
