About the role

  • Child and Youth Mental Health Service Acute Response Team (CYMHS-ART) at Redcliffe-Caboolture is a new dedicated team, which expands existing child and youth mental health services. CYMHS-ART will provide rapid assessment, consultation liaison psychiatry, community follow-up, and brief intervention for children, young people and their families presenting in mental health crises to local hospitals (Redcliffe & Caboolture).
  • Provide clinical leadership and speciality psychiatry services to CYMHS-ART (Redcliffe & Caboolture) and to contribute to the overall development and quality of an integrated and recovery orientated Mental Health Service.

  • The successful applicant must have a Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) awarded by a Metro North Health Credentialing and SoCP Committee appropriate to the role. Information presented for application may be presented to the Committee during the selection process and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the Clinical Skills Capability Framework for the facility in which the clinical work is to be undertaken. This process must be completed prior to commencement.
  • Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
  • Registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Psychiatrist or working towards.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist or equivalent post-graduate specialist qualification or eligible for registration as a Specialist in Psychiatry with the Medical Board of Australia or awaiting registration.
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification from a tertiary institute acceptable to the Medical Board of Australia for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia..
  • A University appointment would be highly desirable.
