About your opportunity

Fixed term temporary part timeup to 30 June 2023,45.6 hours per fortnight.

This position will be part of the multidisciplinary BaSCI Project which aims to improve the health services and outcomes for people with brain and spinal cord injuries in North Queensland.

Deliver high level Social Work clinical services and leadership in the area of rehabilitation and management to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health in accordance with organisational goals.

Utilise clinical expertise and advanced level skills to act as a resource/advisory person in the area of Rehabilitation within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

The Statewide Brain and Spinal Cord Injury (BaSCI) Project is a Statewide Commonwealth funded project that will implement the collective objectives of the project and will design, implement and evaluate strategies locally to expand and improve rehabilitation services for people with acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury across the care continuum to:

  • Optimise patient access, experience and outcomes
  • Boost system capacity, capability and performance
  • Ensure equitable patient access to high quality care irrespective of geography
  • Improve coordination and integration of services across all phases of care
  • Standardise contemporary approaches to care
  • Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of health services

Generous remuneration package value up to $7065 p.m. (45.6 hrs p.f.) comprising:

  • Salary range of $58.02 to $62.43p.h. (HP4)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

  • It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Social Work that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
  • Roster: This position may be required to work on-call weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis through the Social Work Department's Clinical On-Call Service. This service requires a thirty minute response time.
  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
