The Facility:
This hospital is currently undergoing a $250 million redevelopment to deliver a new state of the art facility to better serve the immediate and surrounding communities. This means you will have access to modern technology and up-to-date infrastructure. This is currently a 120+ bed facility but will expand in the next few years - a great opportunity to establish yourself in a growing hospital. They provide a range of specialist services (both resident & visiting) including emergency medicine, critical care, general medicine, surgery, paediatric medicine, oncology, obstetrics, respiratory medicine, renal dialysis and rehabilitation.
The Role:
The department is made up of 3 experienced Staff Specialists with support from regular visiting consultants to provide relief surgical on call cover. With wide ranging surgical interests amongst the local surgeons, surgery performed can be as simple as an endoscopy up to and including endocrine, breast and Laparoscopic bowel resections. For those candidates who may find they have a narrower general surgical background, there is scope to broaden their surgical skills with appropriate oversight until they feel more comfortable in performing these procedures themselves.

You must hold the FRACS to be considered.
